Terence McKenna
and "The FELT Presence of Immediate Experience"

As the world's foremost Terence McKenna impersonator, I've lent my voice to projects including Terence McKenna's Blue Streak, the podcast by his daughter, Klea McKenna. It was an honor work with his family to help preserve Terence's legacy in this capacity, by reviving his voice with a human pulse rather than resorting to AI, through dramatic readings of his archival correspondence.

I've also lent my voice (and penmanship) to Shane Mauss' TRIPS tour and comedy special (TRIPS, Dose 1), as well as the promotional video for The Psychedelic Assembly, helping articulate the organization's origin story and mission.

I am no ventriloquist, I just raise the dead for a living.

"UnTerry McCanny is kind of a Trojan horse," I explained in an interview with Psychedelics ASL. "Which, in the familiar guise of McKenna, smuggles my own ideas, into the fortress."

The Muppet-quality puppet UnTerry McCanny, based on Terence McKenna, was created by Shell Lakey. For a period in 2024–2025, UnTerry served as my “left-hand man” as I hosted McKenna Mondays at the Psychedelic Assembly’s Athenaeum in midtown Manhattan. Each event consisted of a communal listening party featuring an archival McKenna lecture, followed by a “Q&A shmooze & muse,” in which the puppet and I took the stage to revive the interactive dimension of McKenna’s lectures. Inspired by the talk, we riffed on its ideas and fielded questions from the audience, opening a space for dialogue with a thinker who was no longer around to participate in it himself.
